Binder Assignment #5 "Half 'n Half"

This binder assignment requires you to complete a few steps before you can begin drawing.  Be sure to read carefully!!!!

  • First select a picture from a magazine, a photograph or a HIGH QUALITY(not blurry and of good resolution) printed image off the internet.   Your image should be no smaller than 7x9 inches.
  • Next, cut the image in half making sure that both portions of the image are fairly even in size.
  • Carefully glue 1/2 of magazine picture to sheet of white drawing paper or art binder paper from Mrs. Markwald's art room.  Use glue stick.
  • KEEP THE OTHER HALF!!!   You will use this as a guide for drawing and it must be turned in when you are finished.
  • Now you can begin to draw the other half of your drawing by looking carefully and observing what you see in the other half of the image.
  • you may use pencil or colored pencil only!!!

BINDER ASSIGNMENT # 6 "Don't Quote Me!"
Be the change you want to be in the world ~  Ghandi
Whatever you are, be a good one ~ Abraham Lincoln

Many of us are familiar with famous quotes, and when we hear these powerful words, images come into our mind.  For this next binder assignment, find a quote that is powerful and meaningful to you.  How can you use the words to create a work of art?  The quote must be present in your artwork.  You can write out the letters, type them and then draw around the words, or cut and paste them into your art.  Pay attention to the style of letters you use and where you place the words in your design.  Composition is very important in this assignment.  You may use any materials you like for this assignment - pen, ink, watercolor and marker would be my best suggestions.  This binder assignment is due the week of FEBRUARY 25th.  Please check the portal for your section's exact due date.
